Nowadays a new range of solar LED Street lighting make their presence felt everywhere and these lights are environmentally friendly and are easy to install and give high-intensity LED output. The solar LED street lights system convert sun energy to electricity and the system is prompted to turn on as the darkness approaches.

Arduino based Solar Street Light The project is designed for LED based street lights with auto intensity control by an Arduino board using solar power from photovoltaic cells. As awareness for solar energy is increasing, more and more individuals and institutions are opting for solar energy.
The first step in designing a solar street light system is to find out the total power and energy consumption of LED light and other parts that will need to be supplied by solar power, such as WiFi, Camera etc. need to be supplied by the solar PV system.
It also poses a serious threat to the villagers from physical hazards such as thieves, snakebites, etc. Installation of street lights may seem a pleasant option. Hence the best option is to install solar powered street lights and moving a step ahead, we designed this 'Solar Powered Smart Street Lighting System with IOT'.
Light sensor and street light control using Arduino is designed to measure the intensity of light or amount of light. Street light is controlled automatically with the help of the intensity of light and Arduino. Arduino UNO R3 is used in this project. Light-dependent resistor is used for the detection of light.
Solar Powered LED Street Light with Auto Intensity Control: This is an energy efficient method of street lighting which uses solar energy to power-up the LED Street light by storing electrical energy in battery during the day time. During nights the stored energy supplied to LED Street lights with auto intensity control based on timings.
